This session will give you a greater understanding of menopause, perimenopause and post menopause. We explore why it happens, the symptoms and impact it can have on women, trans-men and non-binary people personally and in the workplace.  

 By the end of this session you will: 

  • Have a greater understanding of what perimenopause, menopause & post menopause is.
  • Have a greater understanding of the symptoms.
  • Be aware of the challenges it can present in the workplace and what recent research tells us.
  • Be mindful of how it may be affecting you at work.
  • Define your next steps in addressing this issue either as a manager, colleague or person affected by it.

Understanding Menopause: Myths, Misunderstandings and Management.

This session led by myself and a Women’s Health Professional will give you a greater understanding of menopause, perimenopause and post menopause transitions and why it happens. We talk about managing hormones, key nutritional approaches to put you in control of your health, energy and mood. Together we myth bust HRT and help you understand solutions available to help manage symptoms. We discuss how best to invest in your health for now and lay the foundations for a healthy future. There will be plenty of opportunity for Q&A and discussion! 

You will leave the session with: 

  • An understanding of menopause and why it happens. 
  • An understanding of the symptoms and their impact. 
  • An understanding of key nutritional approaches to managing hormones. 
  • An understanding of the options available to help manage symptoms. 
  • Thoughts for further discussion about the impact of menopause at work. 
  • Signposting to good evidenced-based information. 

 

Who for: Women, trans-men and non-binary people who will experience symptoms.

Understanding Menopause: Training for Line Managers.

This session will give you a greater understanding of why menopause is a workplace issue. It will include recent research on the impact of menopause on women in the workplace and what workplaces should be considering in response. We will consider the legal context. We will be discussing together how to have those ‘sensitive’ conversations and how to best support colleagues and those we line manage who are navigating a challenging menopause.  

 You will leave the session with: 

  • Increased understanding of menopause and why it’s a workplace issue. 
  • Increased understanding of the, often hidden, impact of menopause on those experiencing it and their and workplaces. 
  • Increased confidence to have those ‘sensitive’ conversations and knowledge to know who to signpost to within the organisation. 
  • The session will give you opportunity to discuss what further strategic support you need as a LM.  
  • The session will give you opportunity to consider what your practical, ongoing commitment to supporting those navigating menopause will be.
